About me
Welcome to my music studio!
I bring twelve years of experience in private lessons for strings and voice, as well as eight years in public school music education, where I cultivate musical talent with enthusiasm.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in cello performance from Lawrence University, receiving the Warch Academic Scholarship and the Miller String Performance Scholarship. At LU, I also studied classical and jazz vocal technique under Karen Leigh Post and Janet Planet. I am currently working towards earning my Masters Degree.
I have taught in the Poway Unified School District in San Diego, CA, as well as the Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, Ann Arbor Public Schools, and currently teach elementary general music in the West Bloomfield School district.
I teach a variety of instruments, including cello, violin, and voice, and have experience teaching students of all ages. I teach classical music and also contemporary.

More information on how lessons work...
To see what length of lesson is recommended for you or your child, check out the "Pricing" page.
I am a traveling teacher, so I travel to my students houses. This is why prices are slightly elevated, to account for travel time and gas.
I do not require for you to pay monthly or in advance. You can pay me after the lesson with cash, Zelle, or Venmo. I do ask that we maintain a minimum of three weekly lessons a month to maintain your lesson time slot. Otherwise, I may have to give your time slot up to a student that attends more regularly. Cancellations must be given with 24 hour notice, unless it is an emergency. I do my best to provide 24 hour notice for cancellations on my part, again unless it's an emergency.
The student must have their own instrument. I can assist with violin or cello sizing prior to you obtaining a rental. Piano students, an actual piano is best to learn on, or an electronic weighted key piano works well too. Unweighted keyboards are difficult for students to learn on and play, but if necessary we will make it work.
If you have a student in elementary school or middle school that is not yet in a full size instrument, I highly recommend renting your instrument so that it can grow with them, instead of purchasing one.
For music and music books, I will let you know prior to our first lesson which book/s are needed for our lessons.
